VACB Site Information

Accessibility

VACB is built for veterans with different devices, abilities, and comfort levels with technology. Accessibility is an operating requirement, not a decorative badge.

Reviewed August 9, 2026

The current approach

VACB aims to follow WCAG 2.2 Level AA practices where practical. That is a target for ongoing work, not a claim that every page has passed a formal third-party accessibility audit.

Features already in the site

  • A skip link that moves keyboard users directly to the main content.
  • Semantic headings, landmarks, labels, and descriptive link text on core pages.
  • Keyboard-accessible navigation and controls.
  • An animation control and support for reduced-motion preferences.
  • Responsive layouts that adapt to smaller screens and browser zoom.
  • Visible focus treatment so keyboard location is easier to track.

Known complexity

Interactive areas such as Alpha Point, VA Math, calculators, saved-file controls, and Founding Series features may be more demanding than a standard article page. VACB will continue testing those experiences with keyboard navigation, reduced motion, screen readers, zoom, and mobile layouts.

If an interactive feature blocks access to information, report the page and the task you were trying to complete.

Report an accessibility barrier

Include:

  • the page URL;
  • what you were trying to do;
  • what went wrong;
  • your browser, device, and assistive technology if you are comfortable sharing them.

Use the glitch form in the Contact / Corrections Desk or emailbuster@vaclaimbuster.com. Do not include medical records, claim documents, VA file numbers, passwords, or VA.gov login information in an accessibility report.
